Resources
Since 2009 the Trust has had a statutory duty to involve service users and carers in decision making in ways that are relevant and meaningful to them. We have included a few resources to make involving service users and carers that little bit easier.
Accessibility
When you are planning to involve service users and carers you may be thinking about the overall plan, what you want to achieve, who you need to engage, the timeframes etc. What you also need to keep in mind is the possible barriers that you will need to overcome. What information do you need to provide on the day or in advance. How appropriate is the venue, is it wheelchair accessible? Who exactly are you engaging with, can they speak or read English? These are all things you need to keep in mind when planning to involve service users and carers. Did you know the Trust has a MultiCultural Guide and a Making Communication Accessible To All
Health Literacy
Health literacy is about our knowledge, skills, understanding and confidence to be able to use health and care information and services to make good health decisions. Improving health literacy could contribute to reducing health inequalities, strengthening health and improving health care efficiency.
Engage
Engage is a regional website which provides those with an interest in Involvement, including Health and Social Care (HSC) staff, Service Users, Carers and the Public with information, opportunities and resources in Personal and Public Involvement (PPI), Co-Production and Partnership Working.
